What is the joining test like at The Creek Planet School in Chandanagar for an ICSE child going into class 8?

Our son has just started class 7 at an ICSE school. We've been thinking about a CBSE school closer to home from class 8, and The Creek Planet's Senior Seeds campus in Chandanagar is about ten minutes from us in Miyapur, so it's the first one we're looking at. I'd like to understand how they assess children joining in class 8. Is there a written test, which subjects, and at what level? He's a steady student but ICSE and CBSE cover things in a different order, and I'd rather he didn't walk in and meet chapters he's never seen. If your child joined in the middle classes there, I'd be grateful to hear how it went ❤️

Two questions I would ask them directly. First, is the test set at the level of the class he is leaving or the class he is joining? Those are two different preparations. Second, does it include the second language? An ICSE child may have studied a different second language from the one the school offers.

Thank you, both very useful. He's done Hindi, so I think the second language is fine, but I'll ask about the level. Has anyone needed paperwork beyond the TC and the last report card? I'd like to have everything ready before we go.

For our daughter's school admission we were asked for a couple of documents we didn't expect, and tracking down originals took weeks. Ask for the full list on the first visit and keep two sets of photocopies.

One that caught us out years ago: our son's old school would only issue the TC after the last term's fees were cleared, and the accounts office took its time. If you're moving, ask your current school how long the TC takes.
