What do you do when one school's fee deadline comes before the other school's result?

Looking at moving my son for class 3 next June. Two schools near KPHB on the list. From what parents told me last year, one gives offers early and wants the admission fee within a week. The other declares results a few weeks later. Did you pay the first one as insurance and lose it? Ask for more time? Does asking ever work?

From what I see in our school groups every admission season, the refund terms matter more than the deadline. Some schools return part of the fee if you withdraw before a certain date, and that date often isn't in the offer letter at all. Ask about it directly, and get the answer in writing. Most people only ask about extending the deadline, and that's the one they almost never move.

Refund date, in writing. Good point. Will ask at the visit.

Same problem at playschool level also. For our daughter, one playschool near SR Nagar asked for an advance to block the seat, the other said wait till November. We paid the first one. Small amount but still it pinches. I will need this answer when she goes to proper school.
