Went to the Abids Sunday book market for school guides. Came back with 14 old comics

Yesterday's plan: take my 11 year old to the Sunday book market in Abids, find the three guides on his school list, be home by lunch. What happened: we found two guides in the first twenty minutes. Then he spotted a man with a pile of old comics on a sheet and that was the end of the morning. He went through every single one, made a 'yes' pile and a 'maybe' pile, and bargained the uncle down for the lot with a seriousness I have never seen him bring to homework. He read four in the car. I've been told the 'maybe' pile was a mistake and we need to go back ❤️

Two of the three. For the third the uncle said 'next Sunday', with great confidence.

Update on the guides: the third one turned up at a shop near us after all, so no second trip needed. Except he has read all 14 comics, ranked them, and wants to know if the market has the next ones. So we're going back anyway.

Our 16 year old did the same thing with old detective novels a couple of years ago. Hardly touched them then. She's reading them now.
