We can hear the Brigade Public School assembly from our balcony, and now our 6 year old wants to go there

Our flat in Attapur is close enough to Brigade Public School that the morning assembly drifts up to our balcony. Our younger one, 6, goes to an IB school much further out, and he has now decided he wants 'the singing school'. My partner thinks we should at least look. I work in schools myself, so I know what the brochures say, yaar. For parents with little ones there: how long is the day for class 1 and 2, and how much comes home in the evenings? And how are children settled when they join from another school?

  • Not the worst starting point. When my daughter wanted to change schools at 8, it was because she liked a friend's uniform. What helped us look past the reason was asking families for a regular week's diary, and seeing a child's bag on a random midweek day. That told us more than any timetable.

+1 on the bag. And walking distance at 6 is worth a lot. My elder one did about 50 min each way in class 1 and 2 and slept in the car every single afternoon 🤷
