Water purifier service near Nanakramguda? The tap water has gone cloudy since the rains

gentle_kite_1642

Baby is a month old and I'm suddenly suspicious of every glass of water in the house. Since the heavy rain last week the water from our tap has looked faintly cloudy, and the purifier's light has started blinking. The company's service line has given us a slot nine days away. Is there a technician around Nanakramguda or Gachibowli who comes the same week and knows what they're doing? Ar opekkha kora jachhe na. Also happy to hear what else you checked when this happened to you.

We use the manufacturer's service as well, and in the rains their slots stretch like this every year. Two practical suggestions from our own experience. Ask the technician to show you a TDS reading before and after the filter change, so you know the filters were really changed. And while you wait, boiled and cooled water for anything the baby needs is the usual approach; your own paediatrician can tell you what they prefer for your situation.

Up for a feed, reading this. She's breastfed, so it's mostly for us and for rinsing the bottles and pump parts, but boiling it is for now. The TDS before-and-after is a good idea, I wouldn't have thought to ask.

The company was slow for us too. There's a technician who runs a small shop near the market in Gachibowli and services most brands. Ask in your building's group, someone will have his number. He came the next day.

Check whether your building's sump or overhead tank was cleaned recently. Our water went cloudy after the rains because of the tank, not the purifier. The society cleaned it and the problem disappeared.

We keep a spare set of filters at home now because of exactly this. One July we waited two weeks. A local technician fitted the spares in twenty minutes.

For the first few months with our younger one we gave up on the purifier entirely during the monsoon and used sealed 20 litre cans. Not elegant, but one less thing to think about at 3 am.
