Waitlisted school has offered a nursery seat ten days before reopening. We already paid elsewhere.

Our daughter is due to start nursery at a school near Attapur, where we paid the admission fee in March. This afternoon the school we had preferred called to say a seat has opened. It is further from home, but it is the one we liked at the visit. The receipt from the first school says the fee is non-refundable. Has anyone switched this late? I would like to know how it went with the first school, and whether a three year old noticed any of it.
