Two school runs in two directions. Should our son move from CBSE to Kakatiya Techno School in Saroornagar?

My delivery calls come at any hour, and two school runs in two directions is becoming impossible. Our daughter starts LKG next June and we've been looking at Kakatiya Techno School in Saroornagar for her. The thought now is to move our son there as well, into class 5, from his CBSE school. One gate, one timetable, one set of holidays. What I can't judge is whether a State Board switch at that age costs him anything later, or whether I'm overthinking a board for a ten-year-old. Has anyone made a move like this purely for practical reasons?

Practical reasons are good reasons. Around Balanagar most of the children I know study in state board schools and they're doing fine. At class 5 or 6 what matters more is who teaches maths and whether the child sits for homework every day. After 10th they all go to intermediate college anyway, so the board question comes again at that time.

I agree, with one addition. My grandson's friends who changed boards in primary mostly had a rough first term with the second language, more than with maths. If the boy has done Hindi as second language in CBSE, find out what the school expects in Telugu and whether they give new joiners any time to catch up.

One school for both is worth more than people admit. When my grandson's school and his daycare were in opposite directions, it wore everybody down, me included. The question I would ask is whether your son is happy where he is, with friends he will miss. At ten that can matter more to him than the board does to you. Have you asked him what he thinks?
