Some bookshops run a Saturday morning story session, but those are pitched at 3 and up. At 1 she'll wander. Ours did at that age and nobody minded.

A few community libraries let toddlers in with a parent even when the sessions are meant for older children. Ask how strict they are about age. At 1, ten minutes of listening is a good day, so a place you can slip out of quietly matters more than the programme.

Our younger one's playschool used to open its reading room to outside families on Saturday mornings. Playschools near you might do something similar, a lot of them are empty on weekends and like having parents see the place.

Good idea. There are three playschools within walking distance and it never occurred to me to ask. Will try this week.
