Son's favourite weekend outing is the railway level crossing in Alwal

Asked my 6 yr old where he wanted to go this Sunday. Zoo? Park? Nope. The level crossing near our place to wait for trains. Forty minutes, three trains, one of them a goods train. Best day ever apparently 😂 Any better train-watching spots in the city? Asking for a very demanding client.

Mine was exactly the same at 6. Now he's 16 and doesn't look up from his phone even when we're on a train. Enjoy it while it lasts.

At that age our daughter's favourite treat was a short MMTS ride on a Sunday morning, a few stations and back, sitting by the window. It cost almost nothing and kept her happy for the whole day. You could try one from somewhere near you.

Our 10 month old already goes still and stares when a train passes near the overbridge. Looks like we're heading the same way 😄

Kacheguda station is worth a trip just for the old building, my son loved walking around it when he was small. Get a platform ticket and let him watch the trains come in.
