son just started inter first year. everyone, including him till last month, assumed medicine because of me now he says he's more interested in physio. he likes the idea of seeing someone get better week by week, which is a better reason than most people give for anything i work next to physiotherapists all day so i know what they do on a ward. what i don't know is the course side today, which colleges here are decent, and what the first few years of the job look like in hyderabad. dont want to push him either way, just want him to have real information. anyone whose kid went this route

Two girls from our daughter's school batch took BPT, so I have heard a little second-hand. They both said the first year had far more anatomy and physiology than they expected. The thing they kept repeating was to look at where the internship happens. The colleges attached to a busy hospital gave them many more patients to work with. That would be my first question to any college he considers.

Not from this field, but one suggestion. A colleague of mine has a daughter who studied physiotherapy and now works with a sports academy. She told her father the starting salary was modest and it improved once she specialised. If your son can speak to someone two or three years into the job, that will be worth more than any brochure.
