Son has rebuilt my college cycle from the storeroom. Apparently I'm not allowed to ride it yet

It sat behind the water heater for about twenty years. He took it apart on the balcony over three weekends with videos and a borrowed toolkit: new chain, new brake cables, and a bell he is very proud of. Today he rode it round the block twice and announced that I'd need 'an induction' first.

Did he true the wheels himself? That's the part I never managed. Ask him what the induction covers.

Wheels he did with a spoke key from the cycle shop uncle, who now treats him like an apprentice. Induction covers 'not braking with only the front'. Fair.

Update: passed the induction on Sunday evening. One lap of the block, with him jogging behind me the whole way as if I were seven.
