Son can switch to CSE after first year on his CGPA. He prefers his electrical labs
Our son has finished his first year of engineering, and his CGPA puts him just inside the cut-off for a branch change. The college has opened the application window this month. Everyone in the family assumes he should move to computer science. He is less sure. He enjoyed the electrical labs far more than the programming course, and he says, reasonably, that he can learn programming on the side but cannot easily get lab time in a branch he is not in. I work in cybersecurity, so relatives also assume I am the one pushing CSE. I am not. I'd value hearing from families whose children faced this choice: did those who stayed in their original branch regret it, and did those who switched find the new classmates and timetable harder than expected? Experiences, please, rather than placement statistics.
