Should our State Board girl move to the CBSE section her school is opening in class 2?

The circular came this week. Families with children going into class 2 can 'opt' for a new CBSE section in the same building, with some of the same teachers and different books. Our daughter's friends are split roughly down the middle, and the parents' group has been arguing about it for three days. I teach languages for a living, so the thing I want to know is how the second languages will be handled, and the circular says nothing about that. Has anyone been through a school adding a second board partway? Did the new section settle down, or stay small and awkward for years? We have until reopening to decide.
