Same Saturday art class for our 4 and 3 year old, and the younger one only copies his sister

sunny_chai_3687

We put both kids in a Saturday clay and painting class near Somajiguda because it takes 3 to 6 year olds and the timing suits us. Four weeks in, our daughter makes whatever she wants. Our son waits to see what she's making and then makes exactly that, slightly smaller. If she switches colour, he switches colour. The teacher thinks it's sweet. My daughter does not. Do we keep them together because it's one trip, or split them into different slots so he works out what he likes? Splitting means two Saturday trips, which is the reason we picked one class in the first place.

copying is how 3 year olds learn most things. i'd worry more about your daughter getting fed up than about him

the daughter part rings true. had a younger cousin shadowing my son at swimming for a year. my son quit before the cousin did

My sister's two did exactly this at drawing class (ours is an only child). The little one copied his ben for a full term, then one week drew a bus with nine wheels and never looked back 🙂 It passed on its own. I'd give it till the term ends before paying for a second trip.

Ask the teacher about separate tables before you split slots. A lot of teachers will happily seat siblings apart if you ask, same class, same trip. Our school's early years section does it with twins. En ponnu is 2 and copies the cat, so I have no high ground here 😄
