rainbow montessori in khairatabad for next year, so his nani can do pickups?

gentle_veranda_580

my mother lives a few minutes from rainbow international montessori school in khairatabad. right now my son is in daycare near us in financial district, and evenings are a scramble on release nights. thinking about a school near her from next june instead, so she picks him up and i collect him from hers after work. it's state board, which wasn't on our list at all, so it's a big shift for us. anyone with a little one there, or who has visited? mainly wondering what the day looks like for the youngest classes and how pickup by a grandparent works

We visited a few Montessori-named schools when my son was small, not this one. Timings for the little ones varied a lot from place to place, so do ask them directly rather than going by the name. Also check what they need for a grandparent pickup. Most places we saw wanted an authorisation card with a photo.

I have no direct experience of this school, so this is general. Ask what happens on early-dismissal days, exam days for the older classes and PTM Saturdays. At some schools the youngest children are sent home early on those days as well, which matters a great deal if a grandparent is the pickup plan.

The plan sounds sensible to me. One practical thing: in the monsoon, how far is the school gate from your mother's door? A five-minute walk is very different from needing an auto at noon. Hope it works out ❤

noon autos around there in the rain. good luck. walking distance or nothing

Small thing to check before planning around nani: 'Montessori' in a school's name doesn't always mean a short day for the little ones. Some of the state board schools with that name run LKG till 3 like the rest of the school. So get the timing first, then plan the pickups.

called them today. the timing they gave works with her afternoons. we're visiting on saturday, and i'll do the walk from her place myself
