Preschool has gone nut-free because of a child's allergy. What do you pack instead?

A note came from our son's preschool yesterday: a child in his class has a severe nut allergy, so no nuts or nut products in any tiffin from Monday. We fully support it. My difficulty is practical. His two reliable snacks are a small piece of peanut chikki and bread with peanut butter, and he is not a child who accepts substitutes quietly. I also have a question about scope, and I would rather hear from people who have dealt with this than guess. Do schools usually include sesame, coconut, or packaged biscuits that say 'made in a facility that handles nuts'? The note does not say, and I would hate to send something that worries the teacher.

Our school went nut-free in class 1 and the first month was a mess. Aai kept packing her shengdana chutney out of pure habit 🙂 What stuck for him: til ladoo (they allowed sesame, check yours), a small jaggery roti rolled up with banana, and makhana roasted in a little ghee. Our teacher said packaged biscuits were okay unless the label said nuts, but that was our school. Best to ask them straight.

Ask the class teacher for the exact list in writing. 'Nut-free' means different things in different schools, and she would rather answer once than send tiffins back.

Reading this with a 5 month old and making mental notes for later. Do they really check every box, or is it trust-based? Can't picture how that works with thirty kids 🤷‍♂️
