PG near her internship office for three months, or two hours of commuting each way?

Our daughter's final-semester internship started last week, in Uppal. We're in Puppalaguda. On bad days that is close to two hours each way; she leaves before 8 and walks in after 9. She has suggested a paying-guest place near the office until the internship ends, and I'm inclined to agree. For those whose children did this for a short stretch: how did the weeks go in practice, did they come home on weekends, and was it worth setting up for three months?
