Our younger one wants 'school' like her sister. Any point calling Queens International in Yousufguda this late?

Our younger one is old enough for nursery this year. We'd planned to keep her home with the nanny for one more year, but she's started asking to go to 'school' like her sister and is clearly bored at home. Queens International School in Yousufguda came up when I was asking around. Schools open next week. Is it worth calling at this point, or are nursery seats for this June long gone everywhere? And for anyone with little ones there, what are the nursery hours?

No harm in calling. We got our younger one into a nursery in the second week of June a few years back because a family had moved away. It comes down to whether someone dropped out. Is Yousufguda doable from Gachibowli in the morning though? That stretch can crawl.

that's my worry too. her sister's bus already leaves at 7, i don't want two long commutes in one house. if it's only till noon it might work

Where I work, June is the month of late-seat calls, so you'll have company. Ask directly whether there's a waitlist and how it moves. Schools would usually rather fill a seat than leave it empty, but nobody will tell you that unless you ask.

I drive through Yousufguda most mornings. Between 8 and 9 the main road is slow but it moves. Coming from Gachibowli I'd allow forty minutes, more when it rains.

we've signed ours up at a preschool near home from this month after the same bored at home phase. they told us 3 hours a day for the first month and to see how it goes. call them, worst case they say next year 🤷

  • How did you know she was ready, apart from her asking? Our son is under one, so all of this is ahead of us.

We had a similar gap with our two, and the younger one copied everything the older one did, including wanting a uniform. Worth asking about the timings first. A nursery that ends at 12 with a long drive each way can mean she spends more time in the car than in class.
