Our lease ends next May, right in the middle of nursery admissions. Does a new address mess things up?

Son is going on two, so nursery applications are coming at us soon enough. We rent in Madhapur and the lease ends in May. We may renew, or we may move somewhere within a few kilometres, nothing decided. What I'm unsure about is the paperwork. If we apply with this address and then move before admission is confirmed, do schools mind? Do they ask for address proof at the form stage or later? And does distance from home count for anything in the selection, or is that only for the bus?

When we did admissions, address proof was only asked for at the final stage, along with the fee. A rental agreement was accepted. No one asked about the address at the form stage beyond filling it in.

address only mattered for the bus for us. form had a distance from school line that nobody ever checked

same question here except we're thinking of buying instead of renting. no idea how schools look at it

From the outside, since we're in Chennai and not there yet: if you're buying, I'd look at the bus routes of three or four schools rather than buying next to one. A colleague bought a flat right beside the school they wanted and then didn't get a seat.
