Our 2 year old now says 'cheers' and clinks cups before every sip of milk

We had friends over for dinner and someone raised a glass. Since then our son insists on clinking his steel cup with whoever is nearest before each sip. Not each glass of milk. Each sip. Breakfast now takes twenty minutes. Yesterday my partner was on a work call at the table and he toddled over to clink the laptop.

Our daughter does it with water. And with the bathroom mug.

Our younger one went through this at two, after a family wedding. His chettan taught him to say it in three languages to make it last longer. It ran for about two months and then, one day, it just stopped.

Enjoy it. Mine went from clinking everything at two to leaving the room whenever anyone says cheers at eleven.

Ours did a version with 'ready, steady, go' before every bite. It lasted until the next new phrase arrived, which took about three weeks.
