Older son says he'll quit football if his little brother joins his batch

The academy near us in Sainikpuri has one evening batch that fits both their timings, Tuesday and Thursday. My younger one has been waiting all summer to join. My older one, who has played there for a year, says he'll quit if his little brother comes, because it's 'the one place he isn't around'. I understand, and I also can't drive to two venues on two different evenings in my on-call weeks. Has anyone made the same batch work for siblings, or did you find another way?

Does the academy split the batch by age group once they're on the field? If the two of them are on separate pitches or drills during the same slot, your older son may find it easier to accept. Worth asking the coach before telling either of them anything.

My akka and I were put in the same dance class as kids, and every week I was told to 'go stand with your age group'. She still brings it up at family dinners 😅 If there's any way to give him his own thing, I'd do it, even if it means a bit more driving.
