Nursery at a school in Yousufguda when we live in Secunderabad, sensible or not?

Our daughter is one, so this is a year or so away, but admissions seem to open early and we'd like to think it through. Vignana Jyothi Public School in Yousufguda keeps coming up, and on paper it works: I'm in the office out that side three days a week, so she could ride with me. The obvious problem is distance. Secunderabad to Yousufguda is not a short drive at school time. I'd like to hear from anyone who does a long daily run with a three year old. Did the child cope, and did it still feel worth it after a few months? And if anyone has visited Vignana Jyothi, what does the nursery day look like in practice?

    • That's the hole in the plan, yes. The family member who lives with us doesn't drive, so those two days would need a van, and I have no idea whether any van comes from our side. Adding it to the list of things to ask.

Ours is 1 too, and I've been doing the commute maths as well. Mine is happy in the car seat for about 30 minutes and then she's done, loudly. An hour each way would be hard for her, but children differ a lot on this ❤️

    • Ours manages about 40 minutes before the negotiations start. She'll be older by then, but the drive time isn't a small detail, point taken.

Secunderabad to Yousufguda school time easily one hour, evening more. Small child ki chala kashtam. Better school near home only, my opinion.

We're in Kondapur, a bit closer, and even from here the afternoon traffic through Jubilee Hills is bad some days. Nothing to do with the school, just the drive.

did a long school run for my son for two years in primary. he slept in the car every evening and we lost the time after school completely. wouldn't do it again at that age
