New class teacher for class 2, four weeks into the year

orchid_paper_8685

Her class teacher left after the first month and a new one started this week. No note from the school; we found out from our daughter. She was attached to the old teacher and now says she doesn't like school. Do we ask the school anything, or just let her get used to it?

This happened to us in class 1. Two weeks of 'I don't like the new ma'am', and then out of nowhere she announced that the new ma'am let her water the plants, and that was that 🙂 I'd give it a little time before going to the school.

I would send a short, polite note anyway. Not a complaint, just a request for the new teacher's name and how the class will be handled during the change. The point is less the answer than the new teacher learning early that your daughter's parents are paying attention. You also get a contact.

The note is worth it. When this happened in our son's class, the school's reply mentioned that the old teacher was still in the building teaching another subject, which helped him a lot. We wouldn't have known otherwise.

One note is fine. I'd keep it to one, though. We sent three in a month when our son's teacher changed, and by the third I think we had become the problem parents.
