My uncle swears by Holy Mary High School in Bowenpally. His kids finished there twenty years ago

juniper_notebook_7923

Every family lunch my uncle brings up Holy Mary in Bowenpally for my younger son, who will start class 1 next June. His children studied there till class 10 and he is convinced nothing could have changed. I'm sure it was good for them. But that was two decades and probably a different principal ago. The little one has been in an IB preschool so far, so State Board would be a shift for us anyway. Anyone with a child in the primary classes there now, or who visited recently? Mostly curious about the day for a 5 or 6 year old. How much writing, how much play, how long they are there.

twenty years is long enough for any school to become a different school. your uncle may still be right, but only a visit will tell you. go on a weekday morning if they let you

We looked at it briefly when we were choosing for our older girl, since we live in Alwal. We went another way because we wanted IB, so I can't speak to the school day itself. The office did answer our questions when we walked in, and they had the timetable on paper. I would ask them directly for the class 1 day and see whether it matches what your uncle remembers.

Kids in our lane go there, the small ones every morning in uniform, look cheerful enough. That's the full extent of my research, sorry

Every relative had a school when our daughter was small, and every recommendation was based on their own years there. What helped was asking the relative a precise question: what exactly did you like about it then? Sometimes it was particular teachers, who may have left long ago. Sometimes it was the culture of the place, which often lasts. Worth asking your uncle that before you visit.
