My partner's snoring wakes the baby. Who moves to the other room?

He's three months old and finally doing a four-hour stretch at night, except when my partner falls properly asleep and starts snoring. Then the baby startles and we're back to square one. My partner has offered to sleep in the hall. I'm the one doing the night feeds, so part of me says yes please. Another part feels like we'll never get the room back. How did you sort this out?

The hall arrangement lasted about four months for us when our son was small, and it ended without any discussion once he slept through. I'd separate the two questions: who sleeps where for the next few months, and whether it becomes permanent. The first is logistics. The second only becomes a problem if neither of you raises it later. Separately, if the snoring is new or very loud, it may be worth your partner mentioning it to a doctor. That's a general observation, not a comment on your partner.

White noise did more for us than any room shuffle. A fan on full and a cheap white noise machine, and the baby slept through things that would wake the building. Our son is 16 now and still can't sleep without a fan 😄
