My 2 year old now refuses the supermarket because the vegetable cart gives him a free carrot

A vegetable cart stops at the corner of our lane most evenings. A few weeks ago the vendor started handing my son a carrot "for the road". Now whenever we go to the supermarket he stands at the entrance and asks where the carrot uncle is. So, a local recommendation of sorts: the toddler-approved vegetable source near us has a bell and no billing counter.

Gnaws it for ten minutes, then hands it back to me, wet. Every evening.
