found yesterday's box still in his bag this morning. untouched. asked the 5yo why "we were busy discussing dinosaurs appa" 😂 the whole lunch break, apparently

My younger one went through exactly this phase in UKG. Her reason was usually that somebody had brought a new eraser. It faded once the teacher had each table eat for the first ten minutes before any chatting started.
Ten minutes before talking, interesting.
Our son had his own version of this, with cricket instead of dinosaurs. Then we found out his lunch break was barely twenty minutes including handwash, so the conversation was always going to win.
😅
Twenty minutes is nothing honestly.
