Looking for a proper wooden carrom board on the Secunderabad or Alwal side

dusk_bookmark_8049

I taught my grandson carrom on a small plastic board last year and he has taken to it seriously. The board is now warped and the coins jump off it. I would like to buy a proper wooden one, the kind we played on as boys, but I am not sure where to go any more. The shops I remember near the Secunderabad clock tower have mostly changed. Is there a sports shop on the north side where I can see and handle the boards before buying? And what size is sensible for a small boy who will grow into it?

No idea about shops on that side. On size: a full tournament board is heavy, and the reach across is long for a small child. We bought a medium one for our son. He plays sitting on a stool and can reach the far pocket without lying across the board. Check the frame joints before paying. Cheap ones loosen within a year.
