last kid left at daycare on release nights. he's started asking why

gentle_veranda_580

two evenings a month i'm on a production release from 6 to 8. daycare has a late stay till 8 so i pay for it on those days. he's 5 and noticed he's always the last one. today he asked if i forgot him. i didn't, but i get why it looks like that from where he's sitting

nothing useful sorry. my son's 8 months and i only found out last week the daycare we picked has a late stay rate. didn't even know it was a thing. dreading this exact conversation in a few years

the rate isn't the bad part. it's him watching the door every time it opens

Is the 6 to 8 window fixed by your team or by the client? I had a similar clash with a standing evening review and was able to move it to mornings once I asked who needed it in the evening. That may not apply if the timing is customer-driven.

client side, fixed. typing this from the release call. partner might be able to leave work early on those two days, going to ask this week
