Kitchen knife a 5 year old can really chop with? She's done with the plastic one

My younger one has appointed herself my sous chef. The plastic kids' knife bounces off a cucumber, she gets frustrated, and then reaches for mine the moment I turn around 😄 Is there something in between that people use? A small serrated one, one of those wooden ones? And what did you let them cut first?

We started our daughter around that age with a small serrated table knife and a banana, then boiled potatoes, then cucumber already cut into flat planks so it wouldn't roll. The knife mattered less than the setup: a low stool, a damp cloth under the board so it doesn't slide, and the rule that she cuts only what is already flat on one side.

the damp cloth under the board is the real tip here. my 11 year old still sends the board skating across the counter when i'm not looking
