japa nanny's 40 days end next week. extend her or try managing on our own

moss_spoon_356

no family in the city so we hired a japa nanny when he was born. she does his bath and massage, my food, and nights twice a week. her 40 days finish next thursday and she's asked if we want another month my partner thinks we can manage now. i'm not sure we can. money isn't the main thing, it's whether i'll ever learn to bathe him myself if she keeps doing it 🤷 those who had one, did you extend?

My son is 15, so this goes back a while, but we extended ours by two weeks instead of a month. The deal was that she stood next to me while I did the bath. By the end I could do it badly, but on my own 😄

two weeks with her watching me is a good middle. didn't know you could ask for less than a month, will ask her tomorrow

We didn't have a japa nanny, but my mother stayed the first six weeks and did every bath. When she left, I realised I had never once bathed our daughter. First week was messy. By the second it had become our thing. You'll learn faster than you think ❤️

What does 'manage' mean to your partner? Who covers the two nights she does now? Sort that out before anything else. If the answer is 'you', extend.
