Is Shri Gujarat Vidya Mandir in Abids open to families who don't speak Gujarati?

Another mother at our daughter's dance class mentioned Shri Gujarat Vidya Mandir HSS in Abids. Our daughter is in preschool and will need a school from next June, and I had never looked at this one. It is ICSE, which we are open to. Two basic questions before I go and ask in person. Is admission open to everyone or mostly community families? And which second language do the younger classes take? We speak Hindi and Urdu at home and a little Telugu. If anyone has visited or knows a family there, I would like to hear what you saw.

sanathnagar to abids in the 8 am traffic is the bigger question i think. ask if there's a bus from your side before anything else

Same age group here. Didn't know ICSE schools took UKG or class 1 entries, thought it was only nursery. Curious what people say 😄

We had two community-named schools on our list. Just asked at the counter whether admission is open to all. Nobody minded the question. Took 2 mins.

I go towards Koti side for stock almost every morning, the Abids stretch is slow from about 8. So the bus or van question is important. Also ask about second language properly. For my daughter, now in class 6, Hindi was difficult in the starting because at home we speak only Telugu. Better to know early.

On the language point, from a Gujarati household: I would not assume a community-named school teaches Gujarati as a subject at all. Ask for the second-language options class by class, because they sometimes change after class 4.

Thank you, both points noted. The van is really the deciding factor for us, I start early myself. I will call the office this week and ask about the route first, then the languages ♥
