Integrated NEET batch or a regular junior college, when she hasn't said she wants NEET

Our daughter starts Inter first year this month, BiPC. We have two options in hand. One is a college with the long-term entrance batch built in, roughly 8 in the morning to 7 in the evening, six days. The other is an ordinary junior college closer to home that finishes after lunch. She likes biology, that much is clear. What she hasn't said, not once, is that she wants to be a doctor. Her brother's choices don't help much here, he's a different child altogether. Paying for a coaching day she may not need feels like a decision for the wrong reasons, and choosing the regular college feels like closing a door if she changes her mind next year.

We moved here from Bengaluru in April, so I'm still learning how this works. Back there most of the families we knew did PU college and coaching as separate things, and the kids could drop the coaching if it wasn't for them. The 8 to 7 model surprised me when I first heard about it. For someone who hasn't decided, that seems like a lot of hours to give to one exam.

Our daughter did MPC in an integrated college some years ago because everyone around us said it was the safe choice. First year was fine, second year she was miserable, and she ended up choosing a degree that had nothing to do with the coaching. If your daughter hasn't said medicine, I'd take the regular college and keep the evenings free. A short crash course is always possible later if she decides she wants it. The reverse, getting back the two years, isn't.
