ICSE class 9 elective form is due before school reopens. Does the choice follow him later?

The school sent the class 9 subject form with the result. Group III is one pick from computer applications, commercial applications or art. He is 13, draws in every margin he has ever been given, and wants art. The family vote, which nobody asked for, is computers. My question is narrower: does this one choice close anything off for class 11 or after, or is it mostly about which two years he enjoys?

We're CBSE so I won't pretend to know how ICSE treats it. What I'd do is ask the school which streams their art students went into for class 11 last year. If the answer is 'all kinds', you have your answer. And a 13 year old who draws in every margin will probably work harder at the thing he picked than at the one he was handed.
