IB report card has no marks and I can't tell where my 10 year old stands
My daughter's progress report came home this week. It has descriptors for each subject, a few lines from each teacher and no marks or grades at all. The comments are kind and mostly say she is 'developing well' and 'shows curiosity'. I understand the thinking behind it. My difficulty is practical. She moves to the middle years programme next year, and I would like to know whether there are gaps we should be working on now rather than finding out later. When I asked her teacher at drop-off, I got more of the same encouraging language. I could request a proper meeting and ask for specifics, or accept that this is how the school assesses and stop looking for a number. I keep going back and forth.
