I stopped taking meetings after 4 so I could cover afternoons. Now I miss every decision

Since January I've blocked 4 to 6 on my calendar for the after-school stretch, and my manager agreed without any fuss. The work is getting done. But I've noticed that the real conversations happen in the 4.30 catch-ups, and I hear about decisions the next morning. Amma says I'm overthinking it. Has anyone kept a hard stop like this for years without it costing them, or did you end up giving it back? 🙂
