How much Telugu do nursery children get at St. Isaac Advent High School in Hafeezpet?

amber_sketch_9277

We live in Hafeezpet and St. Isaac Advent High School is walking distance from home. Our daughter is only 1 and in daycare, so this is early, but I want to understand state board schools before we decide which direction to look in. At home we speak Bengali and English, and neither of us is comfortable in Telugu. For parents with children in the nursery classes there, how much Telugu is used in class at that age, and did children from non-Telugu homes find it hard? I'm not against it at all. I just want to know whether we'd need to support it at home, and how.

ours are CBSE and still got Telugu from class 1. kids picked it up way faster than we did lol. homework help is the hard part, not the kids

At nursery it's mostly rhymes, songs and classroom instructions, and children pick those up from the other kids as much as from the teacher. My son is 1 too and already reacts to a few Telugu words from daycare that we don't use at home. The written part later is where families usually need a plan.

nursery is rhymes in every language, nobody's grading anyone. it gets real in class 1 when there's a written test. look properly then, not now.
