How does St. Mary High School in Amberpet handle birthdays in the nursery classes?

breezy_compass_3238

We are in Sanathnagar and our son is 3. My in-laws live near Amberpet and have offered to help with pickups on some days if his school is close to them, so St. Mary High School is now on our list for nursery next year. One small thing I'd like to understand from current parents is how class birthdays work. At his playschool, families have started sending elaborate return gifts, and it has quietly become a competition. We would prefer something simple and are happy to follow whatever rule the school has. Is there a set practice, sweets only for example, or is it left to parents? Actual experience is more useful to me than guesses.

Rules like that only stick once a few families go first. When my daughter was in nursery we sent a box of laddoos and nothing else, and the next two birthdays in her class did the same. Nobody wants to be the first one to send less. Someone has to be.
