How do you tell whether a preschool is part of a big chain or only borrowing the name?

Started a list of preschools near Serilingampally for when our son is old enough. Three of them have names that sound like well-known chains, but the boards outside all look a bit different, and nobody I spoke to on the phone could say whether they were franchises or separate places. Does it even matter? Is a franchise more consistent, or does it all come down to the people running that particular centre?
