Homework load and textbooks for class 6 at ST. Duke's High School, Malkajgiri

We have started looking at options for our daughter's class 6 next year and are now open to State Board, which we had not considered before. ST. Duke's in Malkajgiri came up when I made a list along routes we already drive. I teach maths myself, so I am less interested in what a brochure says than in an ordinary week. Roughly how much homework does a class 6 child bring home? Do they work only from the state textbooks or add workbooks? How are tests spread through a term? Any current or recent parents, or anyone who has visited: even a partial answer would help.

Nothing first-hand on the school, I'm afraid; our daughter is still a baby. When a friend was choosing for class 6, she asked to see a current student's notebook during the office visit. She said it told her more about homework and pace than anything else. Might be worth asking.

That is a good suggestion and an easy request to make. A notebook shows the pace and how work is corrected, which is what I most want to see.

No experience with that school, but on the route, Kompally to Malkajgiri at school time in this season can crawl. Worth doing the drive once at 7.30 on a weekday before you shortlist 🙂

ask about languages too. in state board class 6 the telugu and hindi papers can be heavier than parents expect, especially coming from cbse
