his preschool is splitting ukg into a 'montessori' section and a regular one. how do we pick?

re-registration form for ukg came on email today. new this year: two sections, one montessori with mixed ages and 'self-paced work', one regular with the usual workbooks. same fees, same building, tick a box by friday. he's very attached to his teacher, who is moving to the regular one. the montessori one sounds lovely on paper. does a one-year switch like this make any difference before class 1, or do we just follow the teacher he likes
