Hindi or Telugu as second language for a class 7 joiner at Cambridge Public School?

We may move closer to Mehdipatnam next year for my partner's work. Son is 11, in an ICSE school in Kompally, Hindi as second language so far. Telugu he speaks a little, can't read much. If he joins Cambridge Public School in class 7, what happens with second language? Is Telugu compulsory or can he continue Hindi? Anyone whose kid joined there late, would love to know how it went.

Our son is at a different CBSE school, but the second-language question came up for us too. There, Telugu has been compulsory for all students in the lower classes, and Hindi is offered alongside it rather than instead of it. Children who join later do have a harder time with the Telugu reading. Whether this school has any support for late joiners is something only they can answer. I would ask them directly at the enquiry stage, and ask what class 7 Telugu looks like, so you can compare it with where your son is now.
