Half-yearly exam days end at 11. How do families cover the early pickups?
My grandson's half-yearly exams begin next week, and on exam days the children come home at 11. Both his parents work full days. We have an agreed arrangement for regular afternoons, but these early finishes fall on two of my clinic mornings, and my sessions are booked well ahead. I could ask my colleagues in the practice to swap, though I would rather not do that every exam season. How do other families handle exam-week pickups? Do schools usually offer a place for children to wait, or do parents simply take leave?
