Found a note excusing my son from PT, in handwriting that's almost mine

hazel_gecko_2892

Emptying his school bag at midnight after my last call, I found a neatly folded note: 'Please excuse my son from PT today as he is very tired. Thank you, Mom.' The spelling is perfect, the handwriting is a decent attempt at mine, and it never occurred to him to sign my name, just 'Mom'. It's still in the bag, so either it hasn't been used yet or he's made a spare. I'm torn between a serious talk and asking him to draft my work emails.

'Very tired' is a strong medical case. Laughed out loud at 1 am. Our 8 yr old once wrote herself a permission slip for extra recess, so I'm treating your note as a preview of what's coming to our house.

Serious talk first. Then have him write it again as a proper request to the PE teacher, in his own name. And if he's tired enough to forge notes, find out why he's tired.
