For a class 6 joiner at ARCA Global in Boduppal, does it matter that the school ends at class 10?

My nephew's parents are looking at ARCA Global International School in Boduppal for him from class 6. He's with me a fair amount, so I'm doing some of the asking. One thing bothers me. It only goes up to class 10. My brother says everyone moves for 11th anyway. Is that true here? And for anyone with a child there, how did a class 6 joiner settle in?

your brother's mostly right. when my daughter finished class 10 last year her whole batch scattered for 11th, even though their school goes up to 12. half went to junior colleges

In Telangana a lot of children do move after class 10, to intermediate colleges or to schools with 11th and 12th, so a school that ends at 10 is common enough. The question I would ask is the reverse one. Would he want to leave in the middle of board preparation? Almost nobody does, so the move happens after the exams, which is a natural break anyway.

Ending at 10 is less of a problem than it sounds. Class 6 is a good point to join, before the middle school content gets heavier. The real tradeoff I'd look at is the commute, if he's going to be with you on some school days. Boduppal is a long way from Kompally.

Who does the school run on the days he's with you? Kompally to Boduppal in the morning is not a small thing. Sort that out before the class 10 question.

Fair point. On call tonight, so I'm up anyway. He'd be with me mostly at weekends, not school days. The odd weekday I'd manage, but yes, it's a long drive and I know it.

Class 6 joiner experience, from a different school: our neighbour's son joined in 6 and took about a term to find his group. The kids were fine, it was the teachers' expectations about notebooks and format that took time. Arre, if they'll show you last year's class 6 notebooks, look. Tells you a lot.

What I know versus what I'm assuming: I don't know this school. In general, class 6 is one of the easier entry points, because many schools reshuffle sections then, so new children aren't the only new faces. Asking whether sections are mixed in class 6 would tell you whether he'd walk into settled friendships or a room of people finding their feet.
