Five years into ICSE because it was the closest school. Would I choose by board again?

Younger couples in our building have started thinking about nursery for next year, and two of them asked me CBSE or ICSE as if I'd made a careful choice. We didn't. The ICSE school was ten minutes away and its timings worked with my theatre days. What I can say now, with a son just finished class 3: more English writing than his CBSE cousins, and Hindi taken seriously from early on. Maths looks about the same. I can't tell whether any of that matters at his age. For those further along, did the board you picked for nursery end up mattering, or was it the school and the commute all along?

I am in the same question now, but between CBSE and state board, for LKG next year. Your point about timings is useful. I work shifts at the metro station, so a near school matters more for us than I first thought. Did the ICSE school have a bus, or did you drop him yourself?
