Evenings and homework in the middle classes at New Little Lilly High School, Jeedimetla

quiet_pool_7488

My partner's consulting work has been mostly on the Jeedimetla side for the last year and looks set to stay there, so we are talking about renting closer from next year. Our son would join class 7 then, coming from a CBSE school. Has anyone got a child in classes 6 to 8 at New Little Lilly High School? I would like to know how much homework usually comes home and how long the school day feels for a child that age. He plays outside every evening now, and I would like that to survive the move.

homework depends more on the class teacher than the school in my experience. on the visit, ask if you can see a current class 6 or 7 notebook. if they won't show one, that's an answer too 😄

Can you just ask that? I'd have felt odd asking a school to show me some child's notebook.

We asked at one school when our daughter was moving up. They showed us a display board of projects instead, which told us nothing about an ordinary week. What helped more was talking to two parents outside the gate at dispersal time. They were happy to tell us how evenings went in their house.

the gate thing works. picked our daycare that way. ten minutes at pickup told us more than the tour did
