Evening sitter for two hours, three nights a week. Does that arrangement exist?

I work remotely, but three evenings a week I'm on production calls from about 7 to 9. My partner can't be home by then. Our son is 3 and that's exactly when he wants me most: dinner, bath, the whole bedtime build-up. Right now he either sits next to me with a tablet, which I don't like, or I take the calls with him climbing on me, which my team doesn't like. Does anyone have a sitter just for that window? How did you find one, and how did you check them? Full-day nannies seem easier to find than someone for two evening hours. I'd also like to know whether a 3 year old accepts a near-stranger at bedtime or whether that's asking too much of him.

We had a college student for a similar window when my younger one was small. Found her through a neighbour. Lasted a year, until her exams.

Two hours is hard to fill. Most people looking for work want a full shift. Ask your daytime help, if you have one, whether she knows someone who wants evening work.

We have a sitter two evenings a week for our 5 year old, so it does exist, but it took us about two months to find someone consistent. On bedtime: our son accepted her for dinner and play almost immediately. Bath and sleep took longer. For the first few weeks she did everything up to pyjamas and I came in for the last story. That middle step helped a lot.
