Do they take class 9 joiners at Keshav Concept School, Padmarao Nagar? We'd be coming from CBSE

bronze_sparrow_3558

Our daughter is in class 8 and we've started looking at schools for class 9 next June. Keshav Concept School has been suggested by a few people. Two things I'd like to understand: whether they admit at class 9 at all, and how new students are settled in when most of the class has been together since nursery. If anyone's child joined there in a higher class, I'd value hearing how the first term went.

We've thought about the same move for our daughter, at a different school. Class 9 gives a year to settle before the class 10 board, which is the argument for moving now. The argument against is leaving friends at 14. We haven't resolved it either.

Not at that stage yet, ours is a baby. Could someone explain what a 'concept school' is? I see the word on so many school names around the city and have never understood it.

From when my son was in school: it meant something different at every school. Some had extra coaching hours, some just liked the word. Only way is to ask what is on the class timetable.

From CBSE into a state board class 9, ask how they handle the second language. From what I've seen with friends' children, that's where joiners spend the first year catching up, more than maths or science.

Before visiting, it's worth confirming on a call whether they admit at class 9 at all. Some schools close intake after class 8 and only say so when you arrive.

I called on Monday. They would only say to come in person once admissions open, so no answer on class 9 yet. At least I know not to make the drive before then.

Different stage, ours is a preschooler, but we went in for a nursery enquiry there a few months ago when we were looking widely. The office staff were patient with questions on a weekday morning. The higher classes I know nothing about.
