Daycare note says 'baby has rashes, please apply cream'. Which rash? Where? What cream?

I'm a dermatologist. I'd like to think I'd notice a rash on my own daughter, and when I checked her tonight I found some redness in the neck folds, the usual sweat thing in this humidity. That might be what they meant. Or not. The note is two lines and nobody answers the daycare number after 6. How do you get daycare staff to tell you something specific, like where they saw it and when, without it sounding like you're picking a fight?

Our daughter's daycare uses a printed form, and it was just as vague until I asked them to add three boxes: where, when first seen, and what they did. They agreed without any argument once I put it as something that would help them as well. Could you suggest something similar?

Practical. The 'help them as well' part is what I'd have skipped. Will try the three boxes.

A dermatologist getting a rash note made me smile. Ours once sent 'baby is a little warm' with nothing else, and I spent the whole drive imagining everything. A quick word at pickup worked better for us than messages. The teacher just told me what time she'd noticed it ❤️
